Example

BAND: FILTH
ALBUM: TALES FROM THE GUTTER
PROFILE USED: Archon - TS - A - LP

This crushing pack of P.R.S - ARCHON profiled guitar tones were created using 4 unique guitars with different pickup styles and configurations. Each of which passed through two classic preamps (NEVE 1073 and the API 3124) to offer variety in color and pocketing for your mix.

In this pack you will receive:
A creamy and articulate clean channel, a Growling High Gain Channel, and a TUBE SCREAMER Channel that really pushes heavy and hard!

There are a total of 24 profiles in this pack. Each gain stage having 8 variations.

  • C = Clean Channel

  • G= High Gain

  • TS = Tube Screamer in front

  • A = API 3124 Preamp

  • N = Neve 1073 Preamp

  • 7 = Schector 7 string

  • BC = BC Rich Guitar

  • LP = Les Paul Guitar

  • P24 = Paul Reid Smith

So for example if you've selected the following profile:
"Archon HG - N - LP"  This would be the Archon on the High Gain Channel passing through the Neve Preamp created using a Gibson Les Paul Guitar.
"Archon TS - A - 7"  This would be the Archon with the high gain channel with a Maxon Od 808 Tube Screamer up front through an API Preamp created using a Schecter 7 string Guitar.

Signal flow and creation of these profiles (the nerdy stuff):

The goal for this project was to capture as accurately as possible 3 main tones of this amp with variations in the input information to give you a total of 24 profiles to choose from. Each profile giving a slightly different nuanced feel to choose the perfect pocket in your mix for a guitar.

Guitars 1,2,3,4 Direct Input > Pro Tools > Controlled DI Recording > Reamp DI > PRS ARCHON> Mesa OS cab > Shure SM57 On Axis > Neve & API Preamps > Kemper > SAVE PROFILE.

(Controlled direct input segments of guitar riffs, runs, and strums for a full fretboard notation were recorded by two guitar players with different picking/playing styles to create a more dynamic picture in the varying "Hand Tones" for each of the players while playing each of the different 4 guitars. This way the profiler has as much information as possible to decipher dynamic range of the amp by listening closely as far down as different "hand tones" and is then able to use that for capturing the sound of this monsterous amp more accurately and dynamicly during the profiling process.)

The variations on these are fun to play with and ready to rock on your next mix!
Cheers and happy chugging!!
